From watching college football, showing livestock, to going shopping, Victoria Hill manages an exciting life. The only daughter of Vic and Jane Hill, the 17-year-old senior, maintains her status as an honor student, and was recently chosen as a senior superlative. Hill diligently involves herself in Future Farmers of America, 4-H, and Georgia Junior Cattlemen's Association.
As a Tift County High School sophomore in 2005- 2006, Hill was selected to serve as a representative. For the 2006-2007 school year, she served as FFA reporter, and now as a senior, she serves as the 2007-2008 Georgia State FFA secretary.
Competing in many different areas, Hill was the 2006 state Agriscience Fair winner. Hill's involvement with 4-H landed her a spot on the 2006-2007 state winner Livestock Judging Team while being part of GJCA has allowed her to shape her passion for animals. Showing cattle, she won showmanship, awards for state heifer shows, and Supreme Champion of the Shorthorn Heifer at the Georgia National Fair and her steer won third overall. Hill also is a champion showman with pigs and received the first overall showman at the Georgia State lamb show.
Victoria aspires to earn her DVM and start her own veterinary practice while owning and operating a cattle showing business.
Hill plans to attend Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton and then transfer to Auburn University, where she will pursue a degree in pre-veterinary medicine with an emphasis in animal science.
Hill's inspiration comes from her parents. "My life's influence would have to be my parents motivating me to do my best," Hill said. "I look up to my daddy. One day I hope to be admired and trusted by all like he is." Hill credits former FFA state and national officers as being some of her inspiration as well.
Victoria has worked hard to obtain all of her achievements and is still working toward future goals. Her advice is to "live life as if it were your very last day on earth; dream your dreams as big as the ocean because one day they just might come true."
Victoria is the granddaughter of Mrs. Carolyn Cooper and the late Lamar Cooper of Colquitt and Max and Ann Hill of Lyons.
