One One - Being a single entity, unit, object, or being, characterized by unit; undivided, have the same kind of quality. America is one of the most amazing countries in the world. As a whole the nation is comprised of several million people as individuals, yet as one country undivided, and clearly American. All of us come from somewhere else as our ancestors moved across the Atlantic Ocean to come to this new, strange place, and for the most part all of us are proud of our heritage. For example my heritage is that I am Italian and Irish (you know my problems now) in which both my mother and father are proud to be a part of, as I am also. So how does this relate to Colquitt, Georgia? Good question. The Bible says in Ephesians Ch. 4:4-6, "For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all. Wow! What awesome scriptures God has just given us, though we are all different in race and tradition we can all have one common denominator and that is our love for God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. In order to get back to God we are going to have to put aside our differenced and concentrate on the things that keep us together. Number one we have a "glorious hope for the future." The future is that if we confess Jesus Christ as our personal savior then we are going to make heaven our home, that is all that confess Him as savior not a select few that fit man's criteria but those that fit God's criteria, which thank God is not nearly as complicated as man's. Number two "there is one God and father over all." God's love for us never ends. It goes on forever, He loves the saved, He loves the lost; nothing can be compared to the love of God. It is never ending and without condition. He created us in His image, from the very beginning all of us in His image. When we see each other that is exactly how we need to see each other as images of God. None of us are better than each other in the eyes of God; we are either lost and undone or saved by His grace and mercy, which endures forever, not black, red, yellow, brown, or white. Simply put, we are Souls, and He will always be the one and only God. In conclusion He is "living through all." When God breathed his breath into the nostrils of Adam, He was breathing His very life into him, God's very own D.N.A. if you will. Science has already traced back our D.N.A. to one man, one molecule, one atom. Only an amazing God in love with His people can do that; we in return need to love one another this same way. We here at the Miller County Ministerial Fellowship are asking you to join us in prayer for our city, our country and our people to become one again, to have one mind and one accord to be the greatest community that God has called us to be. Deuteronomy 28:13 says it best: "If you listen to these commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom." May God richly bless you in all of your endeavors this week. | |||||
