Accident

On September 17, 2007,

Gloria Ann March of Tallahassee, FL, was traveling South on Hwy. 39 N. when a dog entered into the path of her vehicle. The collision could not be avoided.

On September 15, 2007,

Jennifer Hightower was traveling west into a driveway, and a Ford Crown Victoria, belonging to

W.C. Hightower, was parked in the yard area. Ms. Hightower's vehicle slid into Mr. Hightower's vehicle upon braking. Ms. Hightower's driver's side front bumper struck the passenger side front door panel of Mr. Hightower's vehicle. Minor damages were done to both vehicles. Ms. Hightower stated that her brakes failed when she went to apply them to stop.

On September 16, 2007,

Mr. Cecil Smith Davis was backing his vehicle in a southward direction from parking and struck a Mitsubishi Outlander that was owned by Mrs. Brenda Chancey, who was also parked facing south in a parking space. Minor damage was done to both vehicles.

On September 19, 2007,

William Clark Gossett was parked on the south side of the roadway facing north while Ralph Burke was traveling north on Phillips Street. Mr. Gossett backed into the roadway in front of Mr. Burke, causing him to rear end the vehicle. Minor damage was done to the front vehicle bumper of Mr. Burke's vehicle, and Mr. Gossett's vehicle had no damages.

Suspended License

On September 18, 2007, officer Daniel Stone observed a black truck traveling south on Hwy. 27. The vehicle had a headlight out; the muffler system was dragging the ground, and the license plate had been turned around facing the back of the vehicle and could not be read. Officer Stone made contact with the driver, Danny Cecil Gibson. Officer Stone advised him as to why he was stopped and showed him the violations. A computer check was run and came back suspended for failure to appear. He also came back as a wanted person from Early County for a probation violation. Mr. Gibson was placed under arrest and transported to the Sheriff's office.

Larceny

On September 15, 2007, Officer Ken Kirkland responded to the Kangaroo Express in reference to a gas drive-off. Upon the officer's arrival, he spoke to Melissa Williams, who stated that a middle-aged white female drove up to pump four in a burgundy Buick Skylark. Ms. Williams also stated the female pumped $34.69 worth of gas and drove off in a northward direction. She was unable to gain a tag number when the vehicle left. A search of the area was conducted without locating the suspect vehicle.
