City of Colquitt Happenings
by: Cory omas

I begin this week by apologizing for the delay in this month's utility bills being mailed out from City Hall. As I mentioned in an earlier article, we are in the process of changing out all water meters in the city to an automated meter reading system. Due to computer complications, this month's billing cycle was delayed for one week. All utility bills were mailed on Friday, September 7, to customers. The due date for the current billing cycle will be September 17 instead of September 10. Late fees will be added on the 18th instead of the 11th. In addition, cut-offs and the $30 reconnect fee will not be added until September 27. We do apologize for any inconveniences that this delay has caused.

Due to the nature of this conversion, we do anticipate that there could be future delays in utility bills in the coming months. We are in hopes that the conversion will be complete with all "bugs" worked out by the end of this year. Upon completion, we will be able to provide the customers with a much higher level of service. Thanks for your patience.
