Letter to Editor
Dear Editor:

I was born in Miller County, and I started grade school there. Not long afterwards my father lost his job, so my parents decided to move to Nashville, Tennessee. While we were moving, we had a bad car accident, and my parents were killed.

The hospital contacted some of my relatives, but they would not accept me. So after I recovered, the Department of Social Services placed me in a group home until I was adopted or till I turned 18. I was never adopted, so when I turned 18, I started out on my own. As luck would have it, I got mixed with the wrong crowd, and I got into trouble. Now I am in prison in Alabama.

I am sure that I still have some relatives living in or around Colquitt, and I would be very thankful to you and your staff if you would be kind enough to print my letter in your newspaper. Hopefully, some of my relatives would see my name and remember me.

I would very much like to hear from them, or if anyone wanted to just write me, I would appreciate them, and I would surely answer their letters because I have no one. Thank you.

Sincerely Charles Kolb, 131672

Dear Editor:

Being in prison is hardly recommendation for a truthful man. This letter has come by the warden of this prison, and I know if I intend harm or deception in anyway, the warden we have would be on top of it.

First, let me say I am not a thief, rapist, nor molester. I am, or was, subject to my extreme anger, and now I pay the price. I entered a man's house, I was invited in, I was armed and I challenged him. I am on the web site.

To the matter at hand: I read, in the paper, of a little girl who has neuroblastoma. Her name, Chloe Shiver. My granddaughter had the same at age four. Chloe might be interested in knowing she graduates from high school this year, cured. She lives in Fountain, FL.

In so many cases of this type, attention slides from the child and centers on the disease. All money and concern seems to focus close but not on the child. I believe a child notices the difference between concern and love. At any rate, please see child and mother get this check. It is intended to be "point and want" money for Miss Chloe if at all possible. When she can safely ride without risk of injury, let me know, and we will see she gets a bike. Just drop me a card.

Mr. Toole, this is asking much of you, but I hope you have time. It will mean so much to me. One other thing, this is hardly news worthy. I would hate to see otherwise.

I write from prison for my wife, the one that usually takes care of this, died last week. She died of cancer.

Jerry C. Wright P.S. Paper's great. I am a subscriber. Stay safe.
