FFA News
by Brooke Widner

Howdy, everybody! I hope the week's going good for y'all. Dues are still $10.00, and if you want a Miller County FFA t-shirt, they are $6.00 extra. The shirts will be in sometime next week, so don't forget to get one.

As soon as you pay your dues, you are eligible to participate in the local tractor driving contest which will be August 28. There is a signup sheet in the ag office, and there are approximately 28 people already signed-up, so you better sign up quickly.

We had our first meeting on Tuesday, August, 21, at 7:30. We met in the Miller County High School lunchroom. Dues did not have to be paid for this meeting. We ate grilled hamburgers cooked by our own FFA advisor, Mr. Bill Spooner. After we ate we went over a few things that members or people planning on being members needed to know. After we got everything cleaned up, we played horse, knight, and chariot. We also drew for door prizes, and the winners were Sharita Johnson, Corey Whitaker, Ben Posey, Jordan Parker, and Jerry Edwards.

I would also like to congratulate Niki Donley, Nick Rawlings, and Mallory Jarvis.

We lost two officers at the beginning of this year, so we had to fill in some spots. Niki Donley moved up to treasurer. Nick and Mallory were elected to become the new officers. Mallory is the new historian, and Nick is the new parliamentarian.

That's all I have for now. Don't forget to get your dues paid so that you don't miss out on all that's going on this year. The deadline is October 10 and can be paid to Mr. Bill or any other FFA officer.
