Disorderly Conduct

On August 25, 2007, Chris Medina responded to 4th Street in reference to a disorderly person. Eddie Lee Grant, 62, of Colquitt was charged with disorderly conduct.

On August 21, 2007, Chris Medina was dispatched to N. Milford Street in reference to an unwanted subject. Upon arrival, OfficerMedina spoke with Jason Williams, who advised that he wanted

Latoya Garland to leave his residence. He then spoke with Latoya and advised her to leave the residence and not come back that night. She left the residence. Later OfficerMedina was dispatched back to N. Milford St. in reference to Latoya coming back over to the residence. When OfficerMedina arrived on scene, Latoya had taken a chair off of the front porch and broken out three of the front windows. Ms. Garland was then advised that she was under arrest for disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. Latoya was then transported to the Miller County Jail.

DUI

On 8/25/2007, OfficerStone was on patrol and observed a blue colored Ford Crown Victoria. The vehicle's parking lights were on but not the head lights. Officer Stone stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Tobias Grant. When OfficerStone walked up to the car to ask for his license and insurance, he could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. OfficerStone asked the offender to step out of the vehicle. He then administered a field sobriety test on the offender. He failed all three tests. Mr. Grant was placed under arrest for DUI and was read the implied consent. He was then transported to the sheriff's office and administered the intox 5,000. Mr. Grant was booked on the charge of DUI.

Accident

On August 23, 2007, OfficerBrad Cox was dispatched to an accident on Brinson Road.

Donna Lynn Chambers was traveling south on Brinson Road at which she attempted to make a left turn onto Mothers Home Church Road. She stated that she was not paying attention and almost drove past the road and slammed on brakes. She attempted to make the turn at a high rate of speed. She then lost control and drove over the culvert and into the northbound ditch of Brinson Road.

Suspended License

On August 22, 2007, OfficerBrad Cox was patrolling on Hwy. 91 N at which time he observed a white Chevy Impala traveling northbound on Hwy. 91 N. A bolo had been broadcast earlier in the evening, in reference to a stabbing that had occurred in Decatur County. The bolo stated that the suspect in the stabbing was a black male by the name of

Keith Sheppard and that he was driving a white Chevy Impala, possibly en route to Albany. OfficerCox followed the vehicle at that time and pulled it over near Waycaser Road on Highway 91 N. before it could cross the Baker County line. When he stopped the vehicle, he observed that it was occupied by a black male. He also observed that the driver seemed very nervous. The driver was then identified as Keith Sheppard.

Decatur County was then dispatched, and a check was run on Sheppard's license. Sheppard's license was suspended for failure to appear, and Decatur County wished to place a hold on him for the stabbing. Sheppard was then placed under arrest at the time.

Public Drunk

On August 20, 2007, OfficerGlover responded to Grady Cobb Road in reference to an intoxicated person.

Upon arrival, the intoxicated subject was not on scene. OfficerGlover had passed a subject walking south on Hwy. 91 S. The officerreturned to the area and observed a white male walking south of Hwy. 91 S. The male was unsteady on his feet and almost fell down, when the officermade contact with him. The subject was ID'd as Roy Eugene Alday. Alday had a very strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about his breath and person; his speech was slurred, and his eyes were glassy. Alday was tested on the portable alco sensor and registered very high for alcohol in his system. Alday was arrested and transported to the Miller
