J. FRANK STEADHAM

Mr. J. Frank Steadham, 98, of Bainbridge passed away Friday, August 24, 2007, at Memorial Manor Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 27, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Edmond Long and Dr. Danny Shepard officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Steadham was born August 28, 1908, in Arlington, to the late John Henry Steadham and Claudia Gates Steadham. He served in the U. S. Merchant Marines during World War II and was a retired tile setter and farmer. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mr. Steadham was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lollie Edmonds Steadham, and his daughter, Mary Alice Steadham.

Survivors include his daughter, Jane S. Black and husband Fred of Bainbridge; two sons, Stanley (Patsy) Steadham of Bainbridge, and Robert (Maria) Edmonds of Charleston, SC; seven grandchildren, Shawn Steadham, Chris Dukes, Connie Thomason, Susie Rush, Robert Edmonds Jr., Les Edmonds, and Chris Edmonds; and seven great-grandchildren, Hunter Thomason, McCall Mason, Rivir Edmonds, Jagger Edmonds, Laura E. Dickson, Diane Edmonds, and Jonathan Edmonds.

Mr. Steadham's nephews and great-grandson, Hunter Thomason, served as pallbearers.
