Law Enforcement Reports Suspended License On August 15, 2007, OfficerDan Stone was on patrol when he observed a red in color Volkswagen bug driven by a white female he knew had suspended license. The officerstopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Deborah Rene Talliaferro who said her license was still suspended. She was transported to the jail and booked. Public Drunk On August 16, 2006 OfficerChris Medina responded to Red's Liquor Store in reference to an unwanted subject. When the officerarrived on the scene, he found the suspect, Thanuel Butler. The officerspoke with the store clerk who advised that the suspect had been there most of the day and she wanted him gone. When the officerapproached Butler, he started being loud and belligerent and was using profanity. He was also drinking on the store's premises. He was advised that he was under arrest for public drunkenness and upon searching his person, a pint of liquor of found on him. He was taken to the Miller County Sheriff's officeand charged with public drunkenness. Missing Cell Phone On August 14, 2007, Ni- cole Thompson met OfficerLonnie Wade who stated she wanted to filea report on a missing/stolen cell phone. The victim stated that on August 12 around 5:30 p.m. she had seen her Verizon flipphone in the parking lot at Wal-Mart in Bainbridge. She stated that was the last time she saw her phone. The case is ongoing. Accident On August 17, 2007, Amber Marie Akien and Tina F. Grimsley, both of Colquitt, were traveling northbound on Hwy. 91 S. Both drivers stated that a truck pulling a large trailer was in front of them traveling at a low rate of speed. The truck made a right turn off of Hwy. 91 S. onto Bush Dairy Rd. Tina Grimsley was following the truck, and proceeded forward and had to brake for the truck, which was still making its turn. Amber Akien accelerated as this happened and struck Mrs. Grimsley in the rear end. Lost Cell Phone On August 15, 2007, Dr. David Lamar Brand of Blakely reported his cell phone being lost. Dr. Brand advised that he had the phone on the morning of August 10 and could not locate it on the same evening. Dr. Brand made numerous attempts to locate the phone but did not locate it. Criminal Trespass On August 15, 2007, Ken Kirkland responded to 63 Railroad St. in reference to someone entering the residence mailbox. Upon arrival, Officer Kirkland spoke to Camelia Wright who stated that while at their residence, a male subject drove up to their residence in a small tan vehicle. Mrs. Wright stated the vehicle then turned around and while exiting the driveway, the subject stopped at the mailbox. The witness then stated he exited the front door and saw the subject enter the mailbox and appeared to remove something. The witness stated he yelled at the subject and the subject stated he was the mailman and then left. While talking to Mrs. Wright, she stated the subject ran to the Chinese Restaurant and that their son, Reginald Kelley, owed the subject money. OfficerKirkland then went to the Chinese Restaurant and spoke to a female subject. This subject stated the male, Ping Wang, did go to the residence and in doing so, checked the mailbox to verify the address to pursue civil actions. I advised this subject to advise the second party to come to the S.O. the next day for a statement. |
