Member/guest Tournament a win

William Rambo and Fletcher Thompson were the overall winners of the Crooked Oak Golf Club Member/Guests Tournament.

The Crooked Oak Golf Association held its annual Member-Guest Golf Tournament this past weekend. Sixty seven two-person teams competed during the two day event. Fletcher Thompson and William Rambo won the overall championship with a score of 127. With golf course receiving many compliments on its condition, Crooked Oak Golf Club was the biggest winner on this weekend. Many of the outof town guests were talking well about the golf course. Winston Trively, the PGA professional running the club, said, "The golf course conditions were a credit to this community. The grounds' crew at the Club, member volunteers and donated labor all worked together to create excellent playing conditions. The groundwork had been laid during the summer by Pap Richardson and his crew, but it took the community to pitch in to get the course in the tournament condition we saw this weekend. It takes a lot of people to put on a tournament this big. We appreciated all of the help the course received this week. It was a great weekend for Crooked Oak."

With their entry fee, participants received a pair of FootJoy shoes, two rounds of golf with tournament conditions, lunch, dinner, social activities and the opportunity to win tournament prizes.
