Law Enforcement Reports Burglary On July 23, 2007, Cynthia Morton and her roommate, Britteny O'Berry, made contact with Deputy Brad Cox at the sheriff's officein reference to a burglary. Deputy Cox and Deputy Lawson had responded to the residence the night before in reference to her and O'Berry finding an open door at the residence, after returning home from riding four-wheelers. While at the scene the previous night, the two females were unable to determine if any thing had been taken, and it was undetermined if anyone had entered the residence at all. Morton stated that she had just discovered that two pairs of white gold diamond stud earrings and her debit card were missing from the residence. It is unknown at this time who may be responsible for the thefts. Vehicle Accident On July 27, 2007 Ms. Melissa Duke of Blakely was heading south on Three Notch Road when two deer ran out in front of her causing her to strike both deer causing damage to the front passenger side fender and passenger door. OfficeShane Rathel was the reporting officer. On July 21, 2007, Brandon Elisha Fowler of Leesburg was traveling on Bellview Road when his vehicle hydroplaned leaving the roadway going down into the ditch and then striking a large rock. Officer Dale Mitchell was the reporting officer. On July 25, 2007, Julia Frank was traveling east on Harmony Church Road when a deer ran out striking the driver's front of the car. Officer Dale Mitchell was the reporting officer. Criminal Trespass On July 22, 2007, Officer Lonnie Wade was dispatched to 359 E. Bush Street in reference to an unwanted subject that was not to be on the property. Upon arrival, officerWade spoke to Linda Davis and advised her of the situation and placed the subject under arrest. The subject was then transported to the Miller Co. Jail where the subject was booked and released. Suspended License On July 23, 2007, Officer Hollis Smith was notified that Miss Melissa Perez was driving in a reckless way on Highway 45N. OfficerSmith began to patrol the area to locate Miss Perez knowing she had suspended license with special conditions. Officer Smith found her driving a 96 Ford Contour at the intersection of Pine and Milford Street. The license came back suspended with special condition to and from work or school and medical. Miss Perez was transported to the Miller Co. Jail for booking. On July 24, 2007, Officer Stone was on patrol in the area of Milford Street when he heard loud music coming up the road. He made contact with the driver, Krashonda Willis, and asked for her license and insurance. The license came back suspended for failure to pay a traffic fine. The subject was transported to the Miller Co. Jail. Possession of Alcoholic Beverage On July 21, 2007, the Sheriff's officewas notified that a black Honda Accord with a Fayetteville tag was driving very reckless on Hwy. 91 North with speeds well above the max speed limit and was meeting head on traffic. A short time later the vehicle was spotted at the Petro Service Station by Captain Shane Rathel. OfficerSmith arrived at the Petro and began to speak with the three males standing around the car. Shane Blake of Fayetteville was asked for his license and he advised officerSmith that he lost his wallet but had his O.L.N. After running checks on all the subjects, it came back they were under 21 and the smell of alcohol was noticeable. All three were given filed test which showed positive for alcohol. Alcohol was found in the vehicle. All were placed under arrest and transported to the Miller Co. Jail for booking. Larceny On July 25, 2007, Officer Lonnie Wade was dispatched to the Kangaroo Express in reference to a gas drive-off. Upon arrival, Officer Wade spoke to the cashier, Kim Davenport, who stated that a older model Tahoe driven by a white female pulled up to the gas pump and pumped fifty-fivedollars and thirty- fivecents in gas and drove off without paying for the gas. The case is still ongoing. On July 25, 2007, Officer Lonnie Wade was dispatched to the Kangaroo Express in reference to a gas drive-off. Upon arrival Officer Wade spoke to the cashier, Kim Davenport, who stated that a white female driving a gray Expedition drove up to the gas pump and pumped seventy-one dollars and eighty-seven cents in gas and drove off without paying for the gas. The case is still ongoing. On July 23, 2007, Officer Chris Medina was dispatched to the Kangaroo Express in reference to a gas drive off. Upon arrival, OfficerMedina spoke with the manager, Bruce Usery, who advised that a white female driving a newer model Chevrolet Z-71 4 door pick-up truck pumped approximately $78.84 in gas and left without paying. Mr. Usery advised that the suspect came inside the store and reported that his credit card was not working, and Mr. Usery told him to pump his gas first and then pay inside. He advised that the guy pumped his gas, and then drove off. On July 22, 2007, Officer Greg Richey responded to Milford Street in reference to stolen property. Upon arrival, OfficerRichey spoke with Jonathan Clark and he informed him that he had his vehicle parked at Top Road. When he returned to his vehicle, he noticed that someone had entered his vehicle and stolen a pioneer CD player and an 8 inch flipdown TV monitor. At this time, no witnesses have been named in this case. The case is still under investigation. Lost Cell Phone On July 20, 2007, Jerome Tomberlin spoke to OfficerLonnie Wade at the Police Department in reference to a missing/lost cell phone. Mr. Tomberlin stated that after leaving the Wal-mart parking lot in Americus, GA , he noticed that his cell phone was left behind. He stated that he went back to the parking lot to findthat his Nokia (silver in color) flipdown phone was not in the parking lot. The statements were taken and the case is still ongoing. Disorderly Conduct On July 22, 2007 Officer Greg Richey responded to a possible domestic dispute behind Merritt's Funeral home. Upon arrival, OfficerRichey spoke with Ramona Nelms, Robin Colvin, and Richard Parramore. They advised that Shannon McGee was highly intoxicated and trying to fight with them. After speaking with the witnesses, and Shannon, OfficersSmith and Richey decided to let Shannon go home with her mother. After getting to the residence, Shannon then started arguing with her mother, Ramona. Upon approaching the residence Shannon could be heard yelling and cursing at the above named witnesses. After further evaluation of the situation, Shannon was arrested and transported to the Miller Co. Jail and charged with disorderly conduct and public drunk. |
