Last week this newspaper published a special edition to give the students and their parents important information on the coming school year. Included in that edition was a school supply list for kindergarten through the eighth grades, dress codes for all three schools and rules for administering corporal punishment, the Board of Education policy on absences and excuses, as well as the 2007- 2008 school calendar. A list of telephone numbers was placed in that special section that will help get in touch with the right person on school matters, and a list of the bus drivers for the Miller County schools with the bus number and rules to ride a county bus was published.
The teachers and administrators are already back planning for the new school year.
On Tuesday, July 31, at 8:30 a. m. teachers and administrators met at the Miller County High School cafeteria to be welcomed back by Superintendent Robbie Phillips. Superintendent Phillips introduced visitors and three Board of Education members to the gathering and breakfast.
