Marijuana found growing

On July 12, 2007, Captain Shane Rathel advised Chief Investigator Ben Nix that he had received information that there were marijuana plants growing at the back of a residence on Hwy. 39 North in Miller County.

Investigator Nix and Captain Rathel went to the residence and had the home owner sign a consent to search the home and land.

While searching the back yard. Captain Rathel and Investigator Nix located two marijuana plants growing and drying in the back yard. The marijuana was taken into evidence by Investigator Nix.

After this incident was investigated, warrants were taken onMauel Verdugo for manufacturing marijuana. On the same date, Investigator Nix and Captain Rathel, along with jail administrator Lavon Cook, received a call on some marijuana plants that were growing at the Miller County line on the south side end of the county.

After arriving at the location there were two marijuana plants growing in the area. The plants were pulled up and taken into evidence.
