New Post Commander at GSP Post 14

GSP Sergeant Eddie Edwards new Post Commander in Donalsonville.
The Georgia State Patrol Post 14 in Donalsonville has a new post commander.

Sergeant Eddie Edwards recently took the helm of Post 14 when past Post Commander J.C. "Buddy" Johnson received the rank of Lieutenant.

Sgt. Edwards and his family came from the Tifton area where he was assistant post commander of Post 13. They now residing in the Moultrie area.

The new post commander is a 1972 graduate of Tift County High School. Sgt. Edwards received an A.S. degree in criminal justice from Albany State College, a B.S. degree in criminal justice from Valdosta State College and went to Trooper School in Atlanta.

Sgt. Edwards started at Post 13 in Tifton as a cadet. He rose in rank to trooper, trooper first class to senior trooper and corporal. He then was promoted to acting post commander at the following: Post 40, Albany, then to Post 12 in Thomasville, Post 31, Valdosta. He made sergeant and went to assistant post commander at Post 36 in Douglas and then back to Post 13 in Tifton before becoming the new post commander at Post 14 in Donalsonville.

The Post Commander has had much training that the Georgia State Patrol offers and has also been a field training officer.

Sgt. Edwards stated that he has enjoyed working at Post 14 and looks forward to being in this area.
