Dot will leave the end of the month
by Terry Toole

Dot Wainright at one of her Senior Breakfast meetings that has become so popular.
Dot Wainright will be leaving the Miller County Hospital and Nursing Home on June 30.

Back in 1998, a county offi- cial called to see if Dot would help with the hospital. Harley Smith had just become the new CEO at the hospital, and Dot was asked to assist with community relations and help raise money for hospital and nursing home renovation and revitalization projects. Dot is one of the best in that field of anyone around.

Harley got the credit for all the growth and prosperity of the hospital and nursing home, and he did well, but we all know who has the great ideas and knows how to get money out of a turnip. Wainright's ability to lead helped in receiving grants to purchase the state-of-the-art equipment to make our hospital competitive.

Dot stated, "I have always been thankful that this opportunity came my way because it has been a work of love. It is my belief that a "Good Hospital" is vital to our community, and we have that. The staff knows how to take care of the family of a patient who is sick enough to be in this hospital. They know how to make the patient and the family feel better. We have one of the best ER departments anywhere. I would like to say thanks for allowing me to work for this hospital and nursing home and serve this community in this way."

The community and the hospital and nursing home are losing one of the hardest working and smartest employees. She has truly helped others live longer and better by her excellent works.

Dot was asked by many, "What are you going to do next?"

She replied, "I'm not quite ready to say, but I will let you know soon."

Thanks are extended for her years of good, hard work.
