Ebony Dots & Dashes

Last Sunday we celebrated the annual Katie Smith at Beulah A.M.E. Church. This affair was started 25 years ago by the late Mrs. Annie Sara Daniels. It was a way of raising money for some of our church projects. She got her wish; my regret is she did not live long enough to really enjoy her project and to see the results of her vision. The Rev. Fred Moore brought the message, and the Sons of Allen Choir were the singers. You talking about a good time; you had to be there.

Mrs. Georgia Burr, my second granddaughter of Defuniak Springs, FL, came as did my great-granddaughter, Mrs. April D. Burney, and husband, Mike, and daughters, Victoria and Madyson, from Norfolk, VA. There were five generations that worshipped together.

The Rev. L.E. Moore, the former pastor of Beulah A.M.E. Church, was able to be with us. We always love to have him. His physical condition is not good, but his spiritual condition is still strong.

The Spring Creek Association Sunday School Convention was held last weekend at Mt. Olive M.B. Church, where the Rev. Thomas is pastor. It was reported that it was a success.

Mrs. Waver Fountain was taken to the Miller County Hospital by ambulance Sunday night. Hopefully she will be home soon.
