MONET MOSS Mrs. Monet Moss, 89, of Donalsonville passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Seminole Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 26, at 11:00 a.m. at Oakview Church of God with Rev. Stan Long, Rev. Milton Pate and Rev. Mylan Brookins officiating. Interment will follow in Oakview Church of God Cemetery. Mrs. Moss was born on July 3, 1917, to the late Daniel and Julia Cook Lawson. She was married to William Shelby Moss, who preceded her in death. She was a faithful and loyal member of Oakview Church of God for 60 years. She was also a member of Oakview's Prime Timers and Women of Grace. She retired from the retail sales industry after 30 years. She leaves to cherish her memory, a son-in-law, Jack (Virginia) Herring; a sister, Mable L. Miller of Quincy, FL; a brother, H.C. Lawson of Tallahassee, FL; four grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and four greatgreat grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, Kathleen M. Herring and Aileen M. Long; and her husband Rev. Gerald Long; one grandson, Ray Allen Herring; and one greatgranddaughter, Lena Margaret Herring; a sister, Obelia L. Daniels; and two brothers, O.Z. Lawson and J.L. Kelly. Pallbearers were Jason Long, Ken Long, James Herring, Jon Herring, Joel Lawson and Jimmy Miller. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
