FRANCES K. WHITFIELD

Frances K. (Cindy) Whitfield of Miller County died Friday, April 20, 2007, in Miller Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 27, at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Colquitt with Bishop Smith, pastor, and Bishop James Wooten officiating. Interment followed in Rocky Cemetery in Colquitt. Grandsons and great-grandsons served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Whitfield was born in Miller County to Rosa L. Williams and Bill Knicks on August 22, 1919. She was educated in the Miller County School System and spent most of her life in Colquitt. She was a hair dresser for the former Bell's Funeral Home. She was a member of Bethel Missionary Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Edna Louise Green of Rochester, NY, and Francine Whitfield of Colquitt; two grandsons, Rockrick Haire of Colquitt and Trey Haire of Tallahassee, FL; one granddaughter, Janan Green Balkcom of Colquitt; three greatgrandsons, Patrick Balkcom of Miami, FL, Traves Bryant of Bainbridge, and Keyshawn Hutchson of Colquitt; and eight great-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Whitfield.

Williams' Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
