GLADYS THORNTON

Gladys Thornton of Miller County died Monday, May 7, 2007.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 12, at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Archie Crews, pastor, and Rev. Isaiah Cheatem officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery. Friends of the family served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Thornton was born May 4, 1927, in Miller County to the late Will Mitchell and Rose Lee Mitchell. She was married to the late Arthur Thornton, who preceded her death, along with her parents, one sister, Della Benn, and two brothers, Pilos Mitchell and Will Mitchell.

Survivors include one son, Clinton Murrell of Colquitt; two daughters, Amanda Thornton of Thomasville and Liza (Walter) Collier of Miami, FL; one granddaughter, Latoya Thornton of Colquitt; one brother, Fred Mitchell of Miami, FL; a special nephew, James Perry of Colquitt; and one cousin, Dice Cheateam of Colquitt.

Williams' Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
