Haire selected to present project at Asheville City School System's 'Technology Year in Review'

Aiden Haire presents his Photo Story
ASHEVILLE, NC--Aidan Haire, a first grade student at Hall-Fletcher Elementary School in Asheville, North Carolina, was selected to present his Photo Story Project at the annual Asheville City School System's "Technology Year in Review." This event was held at the Asheville City Schools' Board of Education meeting on May 2, 2007. Aidan was interviewed on live television and discussed his work. His project focused on a kite that he had made in school. In order to create the Photo Story, he took pictures using the class's digital camera, transported the pictures to his "my documents" file on the computer, and inserted them into the Photo Story program. Aidan then created transitions for his pictures, typed captions, and recorded narration.

"Aidan's finished project is a wonderful example of the accomplishments the students have made in using technology independently," said Ms. Niyetta Hill, Aidan's teacher.

Aidan is the son of Laura Haire of Asheville, NC, grandson of Bill and Lana Stuart of Albany, and Don Haire of Colquitt. He is the great-grandson of India Taylor and the late LaVon Taylor and great-great-grandson of Polly Lofton, also of Colquitt.

Aidan is following the example of his grandmother Lana Taylor Stuart, who has received national recognition for her web design for Doughtery County Schools as well as his great-grandfather LaVon Taylor, who was a pioneer in developing software for IBM and Valmont Industries.
