Seminole Ramlins

Settin here in the kitchen watchin the birds and squirrels eat makes me wonder how the fishen would have been many years ago when sharks roamed the Flint, Chattahoochee, and Apalachicola Rivers. Some sharks left the earth with the dinosaurs. Good I bet.
The Pole fishermen have had a week at the Bream, Shellcracker, and Perch. There was fish caught in the morning most everyday. I was given 2 mess's from a fine young fishermen, I mean ready to eat. Friday at noon there was 450 Shellcrackers in different coolers waiting to be scaled and cleaned. The beds have been fished several days but there seems to be fish a plenny still. One boat reported he and wife caught 50 and had to filet all of them because of there size. Another boat sed he caught some big as a toilet seat. I didn't see those but I don't doubt it at all.
Friday a Tallahassee boat had 5 Bass at 25 pounds on Top Water. The St. John Bass Club from Jacksonville fished and Wes Pace won it with 12.89, Pat Lanier was second with 12.75, Al Davis was third with 10.03. This club was the first B.A.S.S. club formed in Florida and 5th formed in the nation. They have fished once a month for 41 years. When they formed, it was agreed to teach a young boy how to fish. Peter T. was their first and now they have his son.
