Forestry Field Day held recently

The Blakely Area Forestry Field Day was held on April 17 at Kolomokee Mounds State Park. The Miller County High School Chapter placed second.

Individual events and placings were as follows: Tree Forest Disorders, Erika Rigsby, first place; Timber Stand Improvement, Josh Rathel, first place; Tree ID, Kayla Calhoun, first place; Forest Management; David Hunt and Dustin Mathis, first place; Compass and Pacing, Brooke Widner, first place; Paige Godfrey, cord column estimation, second place; ocular estimation, Zac Taylor, second place; reforestation, Guy Heard, second place; Mindi Merritt, board foot volume estimation, second place; and Garrett Maloy, land measures.

Congratulations go to all of the participants in their success and good luck at state!
