AS YOU SEE IT
Editor's note: If you can't get in what you want in less than 30 words, write a letter to the editor. This newspaper does not necessarily agree with the opinions in this column. We usually do agree with the praises. "Doers most often get criticized for what they do by those who don't." Also the "As You See It's" are always printed as is (sic).

The hospital doesn't make any money off of ob services cause Medicaid will only pay so much. They lose money. That's the problem with the world today, everybody expects someone else to pay.

How long are we going to put up with losing good people because of sorry ones?

Pay for your own babies. Q u i t e x p e c t i n g t h e government to do it!

I thought working in a school system for 12 years as a para pro would be in a person's favor. It would--anywhere but Colquitt!

Being one of the best principals in the state doesn't go too far in Miller County by two board members.

To the person who says... Medicaid will pay for it. Well this is the problem. T h e g o v e r n m e n t shouldn't be paying for you to have all these babies. If you ain't got a job or insurance then you don't need to be having babies!

It was announced at Senior Breakfast World Day of Prayer would be at the City Conference Room at 12:20. We went but not one was t h e r e . T h i s s h o u l d have been planned and announced in the Liberal in advance.

I understand that new teachers were hired and that they hired teachers that send their kids to another school. If your children are to good for our school system, then you are too! You need to go with them!

It makes me sick at the people that are on Medicaid and they need to be out there working and they would have something on their minds besides how many babies they can have!

I wish there was no Medicaid. Then I bet we wouldn't need OB/ GYN services in Miller County!

If you can't pay for your babies, don't have them!

Congratulations to the ones that were not hired at the board meeting Monday night. You don't need to be in this mess anyway!

Get a job or some i n s u ra n c e o r Q U I T having babies for the government to raise.

Boy, people really show their ignorance in the "As you see it column."

One parent is bad enough to be in a school system and send their children to a private school, but when you get both in our school system drawing a paycheck--it's time to do something about this issue!

I guess out-of-town administrators do best in Miller County schools, or so the powers that be think, or do they bow or kiss better?

I guess it is like any sinking ship-the women and children go first!

How many of yall have had something done at the hospital and NEVER gotten a bill or had your insurance filed. No wonder they have no money!

The REAL truth about OBHospital reimbursement per patient- $3600 to $10,000- REGARDLESS of where they live- Average reimbursement when the hospital doesn't file the insurance- Zero.

H ow di d you get a reference at another hospital? This could be considered against the law! Maybe someone n e e d s t o f i n d o u t who called the other hospital!

I wish one of my children dated a board member's child -- then maybe I would have gotten a teaching job in Colquitt.

Quit having babies if you can not afford them!! We have enough to take care of!!

Maybe if someone check in to some of the people's backgrounds or the way they treat patients at the hospital, they wouldn't be so eager to check in to someone else's background.

I think the Board of Education should ask questions about the ones they hire for teachers. I know three of the members would not have gone along with one of the ones that were hired. They don't believe in SGA!

I know everyone can send their children to school wherever they please, but I would be embarrassed to apply for a job in Miller County with both of my children at SGA -- and furthermore, they didn't even give our schools a chance!!

Rumor has it that the e n t i r e EMS s t a f f i s leaving due to the stupid decisions made by YOUR county commissioners. EMS is not part of the hospital and should not be security guards or orderlies.

W h e r e w a s M i l l e r County's observance of World Day of Prayer this past Thursday? We can only assume that our government officials don't care and our pastors are too lazy to organize the event.

It is bad when our EMS Director gets the law called to him while standing up for the personal health and safety of our county. It is twice as bad when it is our County Commissioners h e i s s t a n d i n g u p against because they hold personal grudges and there wants of their family members to be hired above the health and safety of our county.

I hear that some of the members of the Board of Education, Board of C ommi s s i o n e r s a n d Hospital leaders don't like "As You See It". The people do, and that's what counts.
