Ebony Dots & Dashes
by Katie Smith

Mrs. Petronia Bryant is in the hospital and is low man on the totem pole. I called her home on Sunday morning, and her husband told me that she seemed to be some better. Hopefully she will continue to mend.

Mr. Ronnie and Mrs. Tondra Randall will celebrate nine years of marriage on May 8. Many more years are wished for them. They are the parents of two lovely little boys.

Happy birthday goes to Victoria Reynolds, my number 11th great-great-grandchild. She will celebrate on May 7. She will be nine years old. Happy birthday also is extended to my grandson Ronald Lane on May 12.

Mrs. Gladys Thornton passed early Monday morning. She had been ailing for some time. Surgery was done on her foot last week. She would tell you her toe hurts, but didn't like for you to do for her. She was very independent. May she rest in peace. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Mrs. Katie Smith, Ms. Gloria Roberts and Mrs. Vickie Donnell attended the funeral of Mr. Wallace George last Sunday. It was held at Pleasant Hill M.B. Church in Baker County.

Had a call from my cousin, Mrs. Annie Kate Woodall. She keeps in touch with her Miller County kin by phone as none of us like to write letters. Or have gotten to the point where your mind forgets what you want your hands to write. O' for the joys of old age!

Mrs. Thedis Isom's sons, Chris Scott and Ryan Mainer, visited with her over the weekend. Chris brought his twin daughters. They enjoyed the children.
