JACK LAWTON HEARD

Mr. Jack Lawton Heard, age 77, of Newton died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.

Mr. Heard was born September 17, 1929, in Baker County to the late Silas Frank Heard Sr. and Charlie Mae Powell Heard. He was a business man and a farmer and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Mr. Heard was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 4, at 9:00 a.m. at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Howell and Rev. Robert Lewis officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were B.J. Heard, Gary Heard Jr., Lawton Heard Jr., Jeff Heard, Stacy Lance Heard, and Chris Heard. Honorary pallbearers were Lance Heard, Dane Heard, Jerry Heard, and Tim Heard.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Heard, Newton; one daughter, Sharon Heard Brewer and husband, Thad, Newton; three sons, Lawton Chad Heard and wife, Donna, Newton, Brad Heard and wife, Terri, Camilla, Stanley Bo Heard and wife, Lisa, Newton; step-daughter, Missy Watson and husband, Neil, Newton; step-son, Justin Davis and wife, Dana, Newton; two sisters, Earlene Rentz, Colquitt, Verna Herndon, Vidalia; three brothers, Wayne Heard, Newton, Frank Heard, Jr., Colquitt, Joe Heard, Newton; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.

Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla was in charge of arrangements.
