Mother's Day

Are you having a hard time finding a Mother's Day gift? The James W. Merritt, Jr. Memorial Library suggests you donate a book in honor of your mother. You can choose a particular book or topic that she enjoys and the library will purchase the book in her honor. Each time a patron checkouts the item, they will see a bookplate in the front cover recognizing this special person in your life. Your mother will also receive a special card notifying her of this wonderful gift. This is a unique way of sharing your love and appreciation with the entire community.

Galileo

Most of us remember Galileo as a scientist from the sixteenth and seventeen century. However, Galileo is also Georgia's virtual library. It provides many resources that allow you to search for business resources, medical information, and help with your homework. For genealogists, you can search Ancestry Library Edition or Heritage Quest. It also has some wonderful Georgia resources including Vanishing Georgia which has old photos of places throughout the state. If you would like to access Galileo from home, you need to request a password from the library.
