Armed robbery takes place, again Another armed robbery took place in Colquitt, Thursday night, April 12, at Ron Cam at 701 N. Fourth Street at approximately 10:48 P.M. The Colquitt Police Department was called to the scene when an armed black man, between five and five foot six inches, came into the business and demanded cash from Bipinkumar Patel of 701 North 1st Street with the robber holding a pistol on the clerk. There was no narrative on what took place by the investi- gating officer since the incident is still under investigation. The clerk, Patel, stated that the robber came into the store waving a pistol and cursing him. He stated that the robber seemed almost as scared as he was since his hand that held the pistol was trembling. The clerk then stated that the robber ran out of the store and across Milford Street toward the "club" across the road. There were no injuries in this armed robbery as was the one just a few days prior on April 3, at Barnard's, when Buren Griffin was shot in the armed robbery. Suspects in both robberies have been questioned by law enforcement agencies of the city and county, but no one has been charged. A reward of $1000.00 has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the offender or offenders. See the reward on page nine of this edition.
There have been area robberies in Dothan, AL, Blakely and
two in Bainbridge at Golden Corral and Mr. Pipps on Friday and Saturday of last
week. | |||||
