Darton professor receives award

Dr. Lyndasu Crowe, assistant professor of biology at Darton College, was presented with the Regents' Teaching Excellence Award for two-year and state colleges at the recent Regents' Awards for Excellence in Education Celebration.

Dr. Crowe is Darton's current Teacher of the Year, and she earned a NISOD Excellence Award in 2004. Crowe, who has been with Darton since 2001, teaches anatomy and physiology. She developed Darton's online anatomy and physiology course which is taken by students throughout the state.

She holds a bachelor's and a master's degree from Georgia Southwestern State University and a medical degree from the University of Santiago School of Medicine.

Created in 1996, the Regents' Awards program recognizes the finest among the University System of Georgia's full-time instructional faculty for their demonstrated educational excellence in teaching, and in the scholarship of teaching and learning. Award recipients have had a record of superlative teaching and a strong commitment to impacting student learning.
