Grant and friends visit MCES

Two professional football players, Charles Grant and Deuce McAllister from the New Orleans Saints, and Kent State University football player, Danny Brian, paid a special visit to Miller County Elementary School on Friday morning, March 2. The NFLplayers were in Colquitt to help with the fourth annual Charles Grant Kid's Day Out activities.

In observance of "National Read Across American Day," they also visited classrooms in kindergarten through third grade and read storybooks written by Dr. Seuss to the students. Fourth and fifth graders met in the auditorium to hear motivational speeches given by the three players.

Charles, Deuce and Danny also took time to autograph items and take pictures. Eight books written by Dr. Seuss were donated to the school library by New Orleans' running back Deuce McAllister.
