50 years of wedded bliss celebrated

John and Geneva Sparling

Colquitt and Indiana residents, John "Nick" and Geneva Johnson Sparling celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 16, 2007.

The Sparlings were married in Miller County at the home of the bride in 1957. Sparling retired from Albany Auto Electric Service Inc. in 1994 as owner. Geneva taught school for 38 years.

The couple are parents of Gigi and Nicki Sparling of Fishers, Indiana. They have three grandchildren, Alicia and Katy Rude and Aubrey Sparling.
