BUBBA' VARNADOE

Mr. Aaron Wesley "Bubba" Varnadoe, age 61, of Colquitt died Monday, January 22, 2007, at his residence.

Mr. Varnadoe was born November 9, 1945, in Miller County. He was a member of Mt. Olive Holiness Church. He was a retired post master of 32 years. He was also a founding member of the Miller County Fire Department, member of the William M. Wilson VFW Post #6046, American Legion Gerald Grow Post #165, columnist for the local newspaper, a skilled taxidermist for over 30 years, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 24, at 11:00 a.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Mock and Rev. Daniel Dean officiating. Interment followed at Harmony Church Cemetery with full military honors.

Serving as pallbearers were his nephews.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Varnadoe, Colquitt; three daughters, Kristi (Alan) Jenkins, Colquitt, Kathy Stephens, Dalton, and Vickie (Carl) Hudson, Calhoun; one son, Charles (Carol) Stephens, Dalton; three sisters, June Sheffield, Ruth Trawick, both of Jackson, and Sandy Rathel, Colquitt; two brothers, David Varnadoe and Ken Varnadoe, both of Colquitt; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
