Miller County 2007 Relay for Life kickoff

The Miller County Unit of the American Cancer Society recently held its Relay for Life kickoff. The fifth Relay for Life for Miller County will be held Friday, April 13, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Margaret Ann Daniels, Miller County Unit president, welcomed everyone. Jay Funderburke, Relay chairman, announced the theme, "The Battle Against Cancer is Everyone's Fight," and introduced the Relay Committees: Martiele Pick- le, corporate sponsors; Suzette Little, luminaries; Jill Brown, team recruitment; Betty Jo Toole, publicity; Cory Thomas, entertainment and logistics; Shawn Whitaker, activities; Tammy Richardson, registration; Linda Dozier, chairman, survivors, and Margaret Ann Daniels, co-chairman; and Dot Wainright, mission delivery at Relay.

Jill Brown announced team captains, and the team captain's packet was passed out. Information was given concerning the team captain's packet.

The meeting closed with door prizes, and refreshments were served by the board members.
