LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTS

ARSON

On December 29, 2006, Officer Kenneth Kirkland spoke with George Mc- Cray, of Colquitt, in reference to someone melting candle or something on the bathroom floor at Spring Creek Park.

McCray stated that he was told of the incident the previous day and that he had Investigator Wells en route to the scene to photograph the damage.

When Investigator Wells arrived, pictures were taken of the damage and they we led to believe that the burned item was the trash can from the bathroom. No other damage was done.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

On January 1, 2007, Officer Kenneth Kirkland was stopped by Michael Alvin Cook in regards to someone breaking the window out of his truck.

Cook stated that he ran out of gas while traveling south on Highway 45 North. Just as he came into the city limits he pulled over his truck and parked it for the night.

When he returned to get the truck, someone had broken the driver's side window. Nothing else was taken or damaged.

LOST WALLET

On January 1, 2007, Officer Kenneth Kirkland spoke to Lawanda Roseborough by phone. Roseborough stated while she was at the Dollar General she lost her wallet, which contained her driver's license and $80.00.

MISSING CELL PHONE

On January 5, 2007, Barbara Handcock of Colquitt came to the police department and reported her cell phone missing.

Officer Hollis Smith was the reporting officer.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

On January 6, 2007, Officer Greg Richey was dispatched to the sheriff's office to meet with Phillip Johnson in reference to damage to his property.

He spoke with Johnson, who informed him that someone had broken the front passenger window of his 1990 Buick LeSabre. The insurance card was also missing.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

On January 7, 2007, Officer Kenneth Kirkland responded to the Villas, where he spoke with Darice Undrey Sutton of Colquitt.

Sutton stated that the windows were broken in his 1985 Pontiac Parisienne. Photos were taken, as were further statements from Sutton.

ACCIDENT

According to Don Haire of Colquitt, Clarence Gass, of Callagen, FL, struck a state highway sign knocking it down. Haire followed Gass until Officer Hollis Smith contacted him on Highway 91 North.A

CCIDENT

On December 27, Mark Stephen Merritt of Colquitt was traveling west on Mayhaw Road and was going around a curve at a high rate of speed.

He ran off of the right side of the road, over corrected and traveled across Highway 272 into a ditch and across the front lawn of a house on Mayhaw Road. He continued into the edge of some planted pine trees, then across another yard on Mayhaw, back into the ditch and finally coming to stop at Bill Wells Road.

Merritt suffered minor scratches over his body.

Deputy Robert Grier was the reporting officer.

ACCIDENT

On January 1, 2007, Cheryl D. Donley of Colquitt was traveling west on Bellview Rd. when a deer crossed into the path of her vehicle and she didn't have time to avoid hitting it. Deputy Robert Grier was the reporting officer.

ACCIDENT

Nerdene Calloway of Colquitt was traveling east on Newberry Chambers Road when a pig entered into the path of her 2003 Chevrolet Impala. The collision could not be avoided, and the animal was struck with the left front bumper.

Deputy Dale Glover was the reporting officer.
