NORMA JEAN SMITH CARTER

Norma Jean Smith Carter, 72, of Bainbridge, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 5, at 2:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Scarborough officiating.

Ms. Carter was born September 21, 1934, in Lake City, FL. She moved to Decatur County from Blountstown, FL, in 1981. She was of the Pentecostal faith and was a cigar wrapper with King Edward Cigar Company.

Survivors include one grandson, Jeremie Maloy of Altha, FLand several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Geneva Thornton Smith, and her husband, Pat Carter.

Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
