RALPH 'SONNY MAN' PHILLIPS

Mr. Ralph "Sonny Man" Phillips, age 82, of Colquitt died Monday, January 1, 2007, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.

Mr. Phillips was born October 24, 1924, in Early County. He was retired from the Department of Transportation and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed visiting with his friends at the Miller County Senior Center.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Causey officiating. Interment followed in Colquitt City Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Jonas Lovering, Rodney Jackson, Steve Griffin, Tony Sammons, Henry Phillips, and Gene Phillips.

Survivors include one daughter, Donna and Danny Roberts, Colquitt; two sisters, Betty Jackson, Colquitt, and Bronnie Roberts, Blakely; three grandchildren, Heather (Randall) Curles, Jared Lovering and Jonas Lovering; four greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
