SGA Warriors' season ends

by Paul Bridges

The SGA Warriors traveled to Thomasville to play Tiftarea and Valwood in a Kansas style playoff to determine the final playoff team from the GISA region 3AA.

SGA played Tiftarea first. The Warriors were on offense first and took possession at the 25-yard line. SGA scored as Michael Fincher recovered a fumble in the end zone. The extra point failed, and SGA led 6-0.

Tiftarea scored on their possession and kicked the extra point to win the game, 7-6.

SGA played Valwood next and was on offense first again. SGA drove the ball to about the 8-yard line and were facing fourth down. The Warriors' Chandler Ray booted a 25 yard field goal to put SGA up 3-0.

Valwood was able to score a touchdown on their possession bringing the Warriors' season to a close. SGA finished the year with a 6-4 record.

Tiftarea defeated Valwood and will be the #2 seed from region 3AA.

SGA seniors Drew Bridges, Alex Wilson, Michael Finch- er, Blake Shepard, and Beau Clenney have all played their final game for the Warriors. They were small in numbers but big in heart. It is always comes to an end, but it does not take away from the successful year the Warriors have had. Go, Warriors!
