Miller County Farm Bureau Member Wins District Award

MACON, Ga. - Miller County Farm Bureau member John Trawick recently received the Georgia Farm Bureau 9th District Young Farmer Achievement Award. Trawick graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in agronomy in 1997 and has been actively farm- ing for the past five years. His grows peanuts, cotton and corn.

In addition to his farming operation, he and his wife, Jennifer, also own a small food manufacturing business, which began 10 years ago producing mayhaw jelly. During the last 10 years, the business has grown to produce 12 different jelly and pickle products, selling between 45,000 to 50,000 jars a year. The couple has one son, Jeb.

Founded in 1937, Georgia Farm Bureau is the state's largest general farm organization.
