Middleton appointed director for the Pataula Center for Children

Leah Middleton Leah Middleton The Pataula Center for Children is a child advocacy center that has been developing since 2003. The center is located on 3 South Jefferson Street, Blakely.

Pataula Center for Children will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and families faced with abuse and neglect by helping victims become children again.

The Pataula Center for Children serves the counties in the Pataula Judicial Circuit which are Clay, Early, Miller, Seminole, Quitman, Randolph, and Terrell counties.

Funding for the center is provided through Children Advocacy Centers of Georgia, grants, fund raisers, and private donations. Your help is needed. Monetary donations, memorials, office supplies, children's books, and toys are all accepted. All donations are tax deductible.

Leah Middleton was appointed to the director's position for the Pataula Center for Children the beginning of August. She is the daughter of Carroll and Jan Middleton of Colquitt. Leah graduated from Southwest Georgia Academy in 2002.A magna cum laude graduate with a 3.87 GPA , she was a member of the National Honors Society, the Golden Key Honors Society and Phi Mu Sorority. She is currently attending Troy State University to obtain her master's degree in community counseling. Leah's future ambition is to become a licensed professional counselor.

The community is cordially invited to attend a reception promoting the Pataula Center for Children on September 24, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Blakely. The special guest will be Miss Georgia 2007, Leah Massee. She will be attending the reception to promote the Pataula Center for Children. Miss Georgia will also be speaking, entertaining, and signing autographs. Please come out and meet the new director and Miss Georgia.

Also, September 27, the center will be hosting the first annual Pataula Center for Children Golf Tournament. The tournament will be a one day tournament that begins at 12:00 noon at Crooked Oak Golf Course in Miller County. It will be a three man scramble. The entry fee will be $150.00 per team or $50 per person and $10 for two mulligans. Please call Crooked Oak at 229-758-9200 to sign up for the tournament. Sponsorships will be $100 a hole. Please come out and support the Pataula Center for Children.
