Almost a drive-thru

by MCL staff writer

This grand opening was almost a drive-in opening. This grand opening was almost a drive-in opening. An accident occurred Thursday, July 5, in the parking lot of Country Boys Petro Station at approximately 10:00 a.m.

The driver, Nadine Rogers, 47, of 1108 Hwy. 91 South, pulled into the parking lot. When she pulled in to park, her brake pedal went to the floor, and she struck the side of the building, just missing a group of filled propane tanks.

One of those inside the building stated that they thought that they were going to have a drive-thru while they were holding their grand opening.

It could have been worse. The driver could have hit all those tanks of propane gas, or even the gas pumps. This would not have been good. This is the second time that this has happened.

According to the incident report, there was no one injured; the 1992 Cadillac Deville was slightly damaged, but the side of the building did not do as well in the crash.

No citations were issued by investigating officer, Christopher M. Medina of the Colquitt Police Department.

The accident was caused due to faulty equipment on the vehicle.
