Disorderly Conduct

On Saturday, June 2, 2007, Deputy Ken Kirkland responded to 69 Nix Road in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, he noticed the suspect, Josh E. Chancey, standing on the front porch of the residence holding two firearms. Upon exiting the patrol unit, the deputy noticed the firearms to be air rifles. The officer walked towards the suspect, and he put the items down on a table and exited the porch, heading to meet the deputy. The suspect stated that he was upset because he could not find a job. The suspect's guardians (grandparents) told the deputy that the suspect had been cursing and arguing with them all night due to the grandfather not taking him to the store. The grandfather stated Chancey had been outside shooting at everything with the air rifles. The suspect was placed under arrest and booked at the county jail.

Johnny Sylvester Darden, III, of Old Donalsonville Road was charged with disorderly conduct by the Miller County Sheriff's Department.

Public Drunkenness

On Friday, May 25, 2007,

Ronald Jones, Privett Store Road, was charged with public drunkenness at Pirate Stadium. He was placed under arrest and transported to the county jail where he was booked.

On Monday, May 28, 2007, Deputy Dale Glover was dispatched to Johnny Freeman and Donley Road in reference to a male subject walking down the road and then jumping into the brush as vehicles would pass. After making contact with the subject, Garduno Rivera Todosio, the deputy noticed the subject was unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech, glassy eyes, and a strong smell of alcohol about him. The subject was tested on the roadside and arrested for public drunkenness and transported to the Miller County Jail.

Vehicle Accident

On Thursday, May 31, 2007, a vehicle accident occurred on North Early County Line Road. Troy Alan Mock Jr. of Tom Tabb Road in Colquitt was traveling eastbound on N. Early County Line Rd. and was negotiating a curve. Jimmy Clay Bodrey of Everson Road was traveling west bound and had also approached the curve. Mock stated that he could not see Bodrey due to tall weeds. Mock took the curve too fast and attempted to avoid striking Bodrey's vehicle. Mock entered a sand bed and was unable to move completely over, side-swiping Bodrey's vehicle. Both vehicles received moderate damage. Brad Cox was the investigating officer.

Theft by taking

Bryan Bruner, Pelham Drive, Leesburg, was charged with theft by taking on Thursday, May 31, 2007.

Damage to property

Martha Elaine Faircloth, Womble Road, Colquitt, was charged with criminal damage to property.

Gas Drive-off

On Sunday, May 27, 2007,

Greg Richie responded to the Kangaroo Express in reference to a gas drive-off. Upon arrival, the attendant stated at an unidentified black male had driven off without paying for $60 worth of gasoline. The only description of the vehicle that she could give was that the vehicle left the station headed north bound on Fourth St.

Cocaine Possession

On Friday, May 25, 2007 Capt. Dan Stone and Kenneth Kirkland responded to Dancer St. in reference to possible drug activity and a possible suspect. Upon arriving at the residence and making contact with the tenant, the officers were given consent to search the residence. Upon the search, the possible suspect was located in a room on the southwest corner of the residence. Upon making contact with the suspect, the suspect was asked if there were any narcotics in the room or on his person. The suspect then stated that there were narcotics on the shelf in the bathroom, and they belonged to him. The suspect,

Robert L. Dykes of Hwy. 45 North was placed under arrest and transported to the county jail.

Driving with suspended


Dorothy Williams, of King- West Apt., Bainbridge, was charged with driving without license, no insurance, and a suspended tag. The offender was placed under arrest and transported to the Miller County Sheriff's Office where she was booked.

Christopher M. Close, Planter St., Bainbridge, was charged with no insurance and no tag. The offender was placed under arrest.
