English Honor Society Initiates 16 at Bainbridge College

Kappa Alpha Chapter of Sigma Kappa Delta (SKD), the English honor society for two-year colleges, initiated 16 members for the current academic year, according to Dr. Margaret Smith, SKD co-advisor.

New members are Heather White, who was elected president, Chris Timmons, who was elected vice president, Patricia Eenigenburg, Brenda Jones, Audrey Lynn, Trung Nguyen and McKay Webb, all of Bainbridge; Brandon (Bud) Pearce, who was elected secretary/treasurer, Mickey Langford and Audrey Turner, all of Cairo; Kim Foister of Camilla; Heidi Laila Torof of Climax; Nicole Roberts of Colquitt; Beth McMickle and Gina Pitts of Donalsonville and Christina Emanuel of Iron City.

Assisting Dr. Smith with the new member initiation were the newly elected SKD officers, President Heather White, Vice President Chris Timmons and Secretary/Treasurer Bud Pearce.

Also participating in the program Feb. 24 at the college was SKD co-advisor Dr. Marina Von Hirsch, who introduced the featured speaker. Author Wynton Hall, who teaches communications at BC, spoke on "The Communication of Leadership."

SKD membership is not limited to English majors but requirements include that the student has completed a minimum of one college English course with no grade lower than a B in English and a minimum grade point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
