Elexus Heard selected as finalist
Elexus Jade Heard, daughter of Ray Dean and Hope Heard of Colquitt, has been selected as a finalist in the Pre-Teen Georgia Scholarship and Recognition Program to be held June 8-10, 2007, at the Westin Atlanta N. Seven Hotel on Concourse Parkway in Atlanta.
Pre-Teen Georgia is a byinvitation only scholarship and recognition event involving young ladies seven to 12 years of age based on their school academic records, awards, and honors won and/or their participation in outside activities. Additionally, young ladies are invited who have been recognized publicly for their outstanding personal achievements, volunteer services, school involvement, leadership abilities or creative talents.
State finalists will be evaluated on academic achievement, volunteer service to community, school honors and activities, development of personal skills and abilities, general knowledge, communicative ability, and on-stage acknowledgement of accomplishments.
Pre-Teen Georgia will award more than $5,000.00 in educational bonds, prizes and awards.
Lexi is the granddaughter of the late Guy and Annette Heard and the late Michael Rentz Sr. She is also the granddaughter of Jan and James Mason of Colquitt.
She has one sister, Courtney, and one brother, Guy, and goes to school in Miller County.
