A tramp approached a man of well-to-do appearance and asked for charity.

Without a word, the man put his hand in his pocket, and the tramp said, "May the blessings of the Lord follow you."

But the man only pulled out his handkerchief and kept on walking. Whereupon the tramp yelled, "And never catch up with you."

But the blessings of the Lord will catch up with you if you care and share.

Charity gives itself rich. Covetousness hoards itself poor.

Our Lord said, "If you give, you will get! Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over."
