'Facing the giants'
Last Thursday night was the first time I was truly ashamed of being from Miller County. On the other hand, I have never been any prouder of the love and support from the vast majority of those who took their time to try to get to the Miller County Board of Education meeting to support Elementary School Principal Kent Richardson.

Paul Harvey says:
I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for singing a Ho-Ho-Ho song in December. I don't agree with Darwin, but I didn't go out and hire a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his theory of evolution. Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not be endangered because someone says a 30 second prayer before a football game. So what's the big deal?

Ebony Dots & Dashes
On Monday, Feb. 19, I had a really good surprise, answering the knock at the door to see two of my favorite young people, Mr. and Mrs. Tyrone Buie of Columbus. Brains
Brains submitted by: FC Garrett
In the hospital the relatives gathered in the waiting room, where their family member lay gravely ill. Finally, the doctor came in looking tired and somber. "I'm afraid I'm the bearer of bad news," he said as he surveyed the worried faces "The only hope left for your loved one at this time is a brain transplant. It's an experimental procedure, very risky, but it is the only hope.

AS YOU SEE IT
      "I had the pleasure of t e a c h i n g u n d e r M r . David and Mr. Kent, and t h e s i m i l a r i t i e s w e r e unbelievable with these two great leaders. Shame on our uncaring, vindictive school board members who voted not to rehire such a dedicated educator. If their school age children were treated like Mr. Kent was treated last week, they would pull their children out of our system.

ANOTHER OPINION FROM THE SOUTH
The talk show guys on the Bill O'Reilly show say that we all have the right to the freedom of speech, but some of us are irresponsible when we exert that right. Therefore, I must ask, when is free speech irresponsible? According to these Fox News guys, when you say negative things about a war, during the war. Why? Because our troop's morale will be undermined.
