Gene Faircloth, 45, died suddenly Thursday, February 8, 2007.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12, at North Jacksonville Church of God, I-95 and Edgewood Avenue with Pastor James A. Hull officiating. Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, at Red Hill Cemetery in Iron City.

Gene was a native of Jacksonville, moving to Georgia for several years and returning back to Jacksonville. He was a Baptist and a construction electrician with Grainger Electric. Gene enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. He was known for his clowning around, his jokes and enjoying life.

Survivors include his three sisters: Glenda Harrison, Sylvia (Ken) Fewox and Wanda (Bob) Ingle; a brother: Carlous (Mary) Faircloth; his fiancee: Caroline Smith and her children: Jennifer and Zach; niece and nephews: Amy, Kyle, Kalup, Leighton and Elizabeth.

Peoples Family Funeral Homes was in charge of the arrangements.
