Each year the Colquitt- Miller County Chamber of Commerce banquets just keep getting better and more fun for all those who participate.

The 25th annual banquet was held at the old Miller County High School Cafeteria on Thursday, January 26, with a full house. If you missed the 25th annual Colquitt- Miller County Chamber of Commerce Dinner Meeting, you missed a real treat.

Until just a few years ago, Miller County Grand Jurors and Trial Jurors names were published in the local newspapers, as they still are in many counties, including some in the Pataula Judicial Circuit, of this state.

It has been asked on numerous occasions why the jurors do not appear in this newspaper anymore.

Taryn Brown, children’s librarian, read “All You Need for a Snowman” by Alice Schertle to the toddlers and followed up with a craft activity based on the story.

One charged with illegal drugs

On Friday, January 13, 2012, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a Miller County dispatcher informed Officer Greg Richey of the Colquitt Police Department and Lt. Brad Cox of the Miller County Sheriff's Office of a vehicle parked at the Kangaroo Store. The dispatcher also advised the officers of possible drugs in the vehicle.
