      This is the story of one woman who learned to dream and act when everything seemed against her. Mary Gayle Grimsley came from the bottom, figuratively and literally. She was raised in The Bottom, a section of Colquitt, Georgia, typical of other depressed neighborhoods that are usually the first to flood in small rural towns. Today, she’s on top of the world.

Kids Day Out was great!
      It was a near perfect day for having a good time, except for the wet field and bogging down. Kids, from infants to 95, were out in full force at the annual Charles Grant Kids’ Day Out right here in Colquitt. The cloud cover gave a cooling effect that made it just right to be out in Martin Luther King Jr. Street at James E. Merritt Park.

Colquittan rides in St. Patrick’s Day parade
      Rachel Grimsley, Miss Atlanta's Outstanding Teen, and Brianna Godshalk, Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen rode in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Atlanta this past weekend. The parade route was downtown on Peach Tree Street in Downtown Atlanta where thousands of spectators lined the streets.
