Thompson and Brooks win Spelling Bee at SGA

SGA held its annual Scripps National Spelling Bee competition at the school on January 25. This local contest is the first step toward the 2012 National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. to be held later in the year.

Sydney Thompson, daughter of Brooke and Jeff Clinkscales, and Tra- vis Thompson of Blakely, won first place. She is a 6th grader.

Remember several years ago when hunting scents and attractants were all the rage? Suddenly, everybody was a biochemist and everyone from college professors to ignorant rednecks went into the bottled scent business. On the ignorant redneck side of the coin, my buddy Cletus Monroe was one of those who decided he would become a purveyor of smell, an olfactory entrepreneur, if you will.
