Chamber Banquet keeps getting better

Each year the Colquitt- Miller County Chamber of Commerce banquets just keep getting better and more fun for all those who participate.

The 25th annual banquet was held at the old Miller County High School Cafeteria on Thursday, January 26, with a full house. If you missed the 25th annual Colquitt- Miller County Chamber of Commerce Dinner Meeting, you missed a real treat.

On January 25, 2012, at approximately 6:50 p.m., Colquitt Police Officer Chris Medina and Captain Dan Stone responded to the area of Geer Street and Washington Street in reference to possible dog fighting.

One shot in fight at Ron-Cam

Two Colquitt men fighting in the parking lot at Ron-Cam Friday resulted in two arrests and one of the subjects being shot.

Miller County Court jurors’ names not published here

Until just a few years ago, Miller County Grand Jurors and Trial Jurors names were published in the local newspapers, as they still are in many counties, including some in the Pataula Judicial Circuit, of this state.

It has been asked on numerous occasions why the jurors do not appear in this newspaper anymore.
