Albany - Friends and family of Allen Golson, the former CEO of what was Palmyra Hospital, are mourning his death.

He was piloting a plane that crashed in Ocala, Florida, Friday. His friends say he was a great guy that did good work.

Toddler time at the library

Children ( ages 1- 4) were entertained at James W. Merritt, Jr., Memorial Library on Thursday, January 19, during Toddler Time. The theme for the program was snow. Taryn Brown, children’s librarian, read “All You Need for a Snowman” by Alice Schertle to the toddlers and followed up with a craft activity based on the story.

One charged with illegal drugs

On Friday, January 13, 2012, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a Miller County dispatcher informed Officer Greg Richey of the Colquitt Police Department and Lt. Brad Cox of the Miller County Sheriff's Office of a vehicle parked at the Kangaroo Store. The dispatcher also advised the officers of possible drugs in the vehicle.

Atlanta – Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp announced a new exhibition at the Capitol entitled “Send Me Your Picture: Portraits, Flags, and Stories from the Civil War.” The Georgia Archives Division of the Secretary of State’s Office and the Georgia Capitol Museum collaborated on producing the new exhibition.

I was thinking about how a status symbol of today is those cell phones that everyone has clipped onto their belt or purse. I can't afford one. So, I'm wearing my garage door opener. I also made a cover for my hearing aid and now I have what they call blue teeth, I think.

You know, I spent a fortune on deodorant before I realized that people didn't like me anyway.

Jesus was wandering around Jerusalem when he decided that he really needed a new robe. After looking around for a while, he saw a sign for Finkelstein, the Tailor. So, he went in and made the necessary arrangements to have Finkelstein prepare a new robe for him. A few days later, when the robe was finished, Jesus tried it on -- and it was a perfect fit! He asked how much he owed.
